Pamela Selman

Account Supervisor, Crisis & Risk Management
An Account Supervisor with Edelman Chicago’s Crisis & Risk Management practice, Pam Selman helps clients navigate a wide array of issues through crisis planning efforts, message development, in-depth stakeholder mapping and tracking, and real-time crisis response. Her expertise lies in war room management and media training. She has been on the frontlines of some of the biggest crises throughout the last 18 months, including in the technology, financial services, food, and environmental industries.

Pam has a track record of success in guiding clients through complex product quality issues, workforce malfeasance, data security and privacy incidents, multi-market litigation, executive transitions, and labor negotiations and reductions. Pam led response efforts around one of the largest global product recalls to-date, which invited intense government scrutiny and demanded multi-faceted stakeholder engagement. She led global war room operations, including counsel to senior executives, scenario planning, press conference planning, and advisory council forecasting and vetting.

She has provided support to clients in a number of industries, including healthcare, finance, food and consumer products, technology education and B2B. Pam also facilitates media training sessions and crisis simulation exercises.

Prior to joining Edelman in 2013, Pam spent time at the White House in the Office of Presidential Personnel, where she assisted in the presidential appointment and nomination process. Pam supported candidate vetting efforts and public records research for appointments by President Barack Obama to positions in the Departments of Justice, Labor, Education, and Health & Human Services.

Pam is on the University of Wisconsin-Madison Chicago Chapter Alumni Board of Directors and chairs the Walk to End Lupus Now: Chicago for the Lupus Foundation of America. Pam graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with honors in strategic communications and political science.
