University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing
Asistant Director, Marketing and Communications
Amy Ashbridge is the assistant director of marketing and communications for the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. In this role, she is responsible for all communications implementation and strategy for the School, including new technology and media, evaluation, and budget management. Amy began her career as a health and business reporter in upstate New York, eventually moving into public relations and internal communications at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Wellesley in 2001, with a minor in music. She went on to earn a master’s degree in International Journalism from the University of Wales, Cardiff. Having not quite decided what she wanted to be when she grew up, Amy then received her master of public health from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, in behavioral and community health sciences with a focus on health communication and crisis communication and response. Amy can be found outdoors in her free time—either out on the running trail, or turning her garden into an urban horticulture hot spot.
